1. Inter-cantonal allocation

   When a taxpayer or a company is connected to more than one canton, inter-cantonal allocation determines the share of the taxable base that goes to each. This can concern, for example, a Geneva taxpayer who owns property in Vaud, or a company with an establishment in both cantons. It is the most frequent matter we handle for Vaud.

2. An international workforce outside Geneva

   Nyon, Morges and the Lake Geneva arc employ staff of many nationalities without the Geneva structures. The withholding tax questions are the same; the local reference points are not.

3. Vaud's own administration, deadlines and tariffs

   In Vaud, tax matters are handled by the Cantonal Tax Administration (ACI). Deadlines, extension arrangements and some tariffs differ from those that apply in Geneva.

   For the returns concerned, the ordinary filing deadline is 15 March, with a grace period until 30 June that requires no request. An extension can then be requested by 30 June at the latest, in particular through e-Délai, and granted until 30 September.

   To challenge a decision, a signed objection must in principle be filed within 30 days of its notification.
